Gregor MacLennan, Amazon Watch
"Indigenous territory and oil: using maps to defend indigenous territory in the Amazon Rainforest."
Gregor will discuss his mapping experience and lead a territory mapping
exercise for the group. Gregor has 7 years of experience working with
indigenous communities in Peru and Guyana. His community mapping work
developed in response to extractive industry threats to indigenous
lands. He now coordinates Southern Amazon Programs with the San
Francisco-based non-profit Amazon Watch.
